Professor Carsten Maple is Professor of Cyber Systems Engineering and Director of Research in Cyber Security at the University of Warwick. Professor Maple has published over 200 peer reviewed papers and is co-author of the UK Security Breach Investigations Report 2010, supported by the Serious Organised Crime Agency and the Police Central e-crime Unit.
His research has attracted millions of pounds in funding and has been widely reported through the media. He has given evidence to government committees a variety of issues in technology, policy, research and education, and has worked with various departments and organisations such as the National Police Chiefs’ Council, the College of Policing, Interpol, the Equality and Human Rights Commission, the Department of Business Innovation and Skills, to name a few.
Professor Maple is Chair of the Council of Professors and Heads of Computing in the UK, is a member of the BCS Accreditation Working Group and was a member of the Shadbolt Review of Computer Science Advisory Group. He is also committee member on the Engineering Professors Council and is a member of the EPSRC UK Robotics and Autonomous Systems Management Board.
